Beste Bart Klink,

Ik ben zonder religie opgevoed en heb er als volwassene tot op heden (ik ben 43 jaar) ook voor gekozen om mij bewust atheist te noemen. Daarbij heb ik gelovigen altijd gerespecteerd, mits hun religieuze overtuiging niet leidt tot slechte daden. 

Met name de laatste jaren maak ik steeds vaker mee dat gelovigen mij om mijn atheisme een 'koele rationalist' noemen of hardop aannemen dat het leven dan wel 'zinloos' zal zijn voor mij. Ik ervaar dat als kwetsend (hoewel ik mezelf dan ook weer zeg dat dit ondoordachte uitspraken zijn en dus niet al te serieus te nemen). Ik vind de teksten op jouw site erg goed, omdat ze laten zien dat atheisme niets meer of minder is dan het niet geloven in een 'hogere macht' en verder niets van doen heeft met gevoel, menselijkheid, warmte of moraal. Ik denk net als jij dat het in deze tijd van 'oprukkende' religiositeit - met name als die zich politiek manifesteert en andersdenkenden beperkingen wil opleggen- een positief atheistisch ' tegengeluid'  nodig is. Ik vind dat je dat voortreffelijk doet. Ik zal de helder geschreven argumentaties en artikelen van je site zeker gaan gebruiken als ik in het dagelijks leven vooroordelen of veroordelingen tegenkom t.a.v. het atheisme.
