Lieber Bart,
Bij het lezen van je vele reqcties komen me de volgende gedachten op:
- Beschouw je jezelf als een soort supermens, die kan neerzien op allen, die niet "wetenschappelijk" denken zoals jijzelf?
- "Geloof" jijzelf, dat met de dood "poef" alles afgelopen is, en je in het niets verdwijnt?
Bewijs hiervoor?
- In de wiskunde bestaat zoiets als een grondwaarheid, die niet bewezen kan worden, en die genoemd wordt: AXIOMA.
Gelovigen zijn tevreden met een axioma op het gebied van de religie - ook niet te bewijzen - en ze spreken dan over GOD.
Kun je daarvoor begrip opbrengen, en niet neerbuigend reageren?

Beste Wilhelm,

Natuurlijk beschouw ik mijzelf niet als een supermens, maar als iemand die kritisch opvattingen onderzoek en kijkt of ze houdbaar zijn. Wetenschap speelt daarbij uiteraard een belangrijke rol. Ik denk inderdaad dat het met de dood afgelopen is, zoals ik hier betoogd heb.

Axioma’s worden in de wiskunde en logica gebruikt en hebben een fundamenteel andere functie dat de goden uit religies. Goden kunnen volgens gelovigen bijvoorbeeld dingen veroorzaken, axioma’s kunnen dat niet. De overtuiging God te zien als een axioma snijdt dan ook geen hout.
